What’s the recent shoes/Kicks/Sneakers hype about? What you need to know is that the sneaker hype is real, shoes like commodities are trading and selling, shoes are trading hands like its market shares, much like your investing in the cannabis market, it’s the real deal.  You need to get back in the game-Sneaker heads are taking over. Many websites like GOAT –Complex etc are taking sneaker buying and trading to the fore front. I was talking to my niece lately she is in grade 10 and told me that people are willing to fore go their back to school clothes for the new school year and wear the same clothes as last year just to own a pair of new yeezeys-That’s the only pair they need for Status these days.

Weather it’s the melliniums or  XYZ(I have to check this) , what you need to know as a 40 plus man, is that the sneaker game is real, more than its ever been before. I remember pining for a pair of Jordan 4s when spike lees do the right thing came out and all the Jordan , Brooklyn adds came out. At that time the 1989 versions were around 149 a pair and you could buy them at footlocker-Still supplying jordans. I was only 16 years old working as an usher for Cineplex odeon theaters. I spent my whole years earnings on the cement grey Jordan 4 1989’s, only to learn my my mom threw them out in 2003. Man do I still covet that pair which are around 400 canadian plus (Will never forgive you mom). Nevertheless, what you need to know is the sneaker game is here to stay and the earlier you get in the better it is.
 

On a recent trip to Pittsburgh, I saw the Steelers lose a close game to the Dallas Cowboys (disappointing), my brother and I had the privilege-given by our wives to leave the family and do a sports fantasy trip leafs vs penguins and steelers vs cowboys , me being a steelers/leafs fan and my brother mo being a leafs/cowboys fan. I introduced my brother to the recent sneaker culture, I took him down to Sneakers head in Pittsburgh, I knew they were having a Jordan release in the morning that day. He was shocked at the line up outside the store that morning, he couldn’t believe people were lining up to buy shoes. He asked some of the sneaker heads in line and they responded they were in line for someone else-much like a stock broker, buying and selling shares on behalf of his investor-Yes this is what it’s come down to, that’s how coveted those shoes you put on your feet breaking the back spine ”wearing them like slippers” are. I myself went sneaker shopping bought a sick pair of jordan 1’s black red sole 30th anniversary 1’s for $49.99 American (Steal) that I still wear to this day-I can dress them up or down-Never been questioned on style choice only admired-More on Jordan 1’s later. The most recent you tube complex video of the young soccer sensation Neymar spending $10,000 in a short time on a sneaker shopping spree says it all-Although he makes close to 3000 american dollars a week. Never the less don’t be surprised when your daughter or son approaches you before school starts and says”dad don’t need a new laptop/tablet or tv or gaming system” rather you give me $1000 to spend on Kicks.
