#DadReviews Drake Concert, The Ex and KOST Toronto

We asked a casual Drake fan and Dad of a 13 year old about his experience at the latest stop of the #AubreyAndThreeMigos #Tour #AATM and here is a heavily condensed summary of his responses.

Drake in Toronto on tour at Scotia Bank Arena

1. Why did you want to go?

I’ve been a fan for 7 years and my son knows his entire body of work.   I thought, what a great bonding experience

 2. Was it like seeing Elvis at Graceland ?

I don’t understand the question, but it was good to see a #Toronto artists selling out the #ScotiaBankArena which is the former Air Canada Centre

3 . What were some of the highlights ?

He’s an expert at crowd work now and knows how to manage and flow his shows.   It was full on entertaining the entire time.   I loved the centre stage design and the imagery/light show was amazing as well.   It was a hip hop show with a pop star appeal to it.  #Drake is a true megastar and a #DAD now as well :)

4. Any negatives ?

He has so many songs it’s impossible to satisfy everyone, I’d rather not hear 1 verse of each. I’d rather hear more songs and less Migos 😉 and more Drake.

5. Is that a diss ?

No, in fact my son rapped to the #Migos music more than #Drakes songs. So there you go.

6. What about the language at the show ?

Look man, we talk about the use of and the non use of words but we both agree not to add these words to our everyday vocabulary, I will let you know how that goes.

The Ex - The Canadian National Exhibition is the go to event to cap off the summer for families in Toronto.  We sent a crew member to give us some feedback for the 2018 edition.

Father of 2 kids under 10.

1. Why did you want to go to the Ex?

I’ve taken the kids before 5 years ago, they both got passes from school and you gave me one 👍 (yes provided by the EX people)

2. You are welcome 😉.  So how was your day ?

it was maybe half full which meant all the rides that the kids wanted to go on had very little line ups.   The ride tickets can add up in cost, but they had a lot of fun.

3. What did you not like about the day ?

my kids were not adventurous about trying food from different places which was a waste because the food building is my favourite part.

4. Any hacks/advice for Dads?

take the GO or TTC, it’s way cheaper and easier to get in and out of.  Also try to pick a day when a soccer or football game is on because a game ticket gets you in to the CNE free.

Oh and people still smoke in public areas sometimes which is a pet peeve as a parent.  Oh and bring refillable water bottles.

KOST - 44th floor of the Bisha Hotel, Toronto

Jeremy Stein, Dad to 3 kids, Realtor and weekend baseball coach.

1. Why did you decide to eat at KOST ?

I’m obsessed with the views of #Toronto and I’d heard this was one of the best.

2. And was it worth the hype ?

yes and than some.   The service, the vibe and the atmosphere was as casual as you can get when you are looking for a good time

3. You sound like a real fan

it made me happy to be at place where I knew people were from around the world and enjoying our city from that vantage point.

4. Is it family friendly ?

I’d say during the day you can bring a family for brunch, though it won’t be a cheap option.   Instead I’d recommend the place for a business meeting or catch up with friends.

5. How’s the food ?

Amazing, it’s not cheap but it’s definitely not expensive.   The quality is top notch.  I can’t say I’m not a major food critic so look it up on Yelp
