With iPad and the over 200,000 educational apps now available on the App Store, students can stay sharp as they explore topics and careers they only dream of with Augmented Reality:
Learn to draw: Tayasui Sketches School gets budding young artists drawing and painting as students can choose from over 20 artist’s tools that faithfully reproduce their real-world counterparts. With Apple Pencil, students can experiment with a number of different shapes, brushes and tools without repeated trips to the art supply store.
Set imaginations free: Architecture and design app Morpholio Trace is equally at home in a classroom or cafe as it is in an architects office. Students can sketch or design their own treehouse or doghouse, using helpful perspective grids, drawing blueprints for buildings, objects, home designs or even backyard landscape plans.
- Future Astronauts: Night Sky puts an entire planetarium onto iPad, helping students identify stars, planets, constellations and satellites, or use AR to walk around the entire solar system - walk up to and around planets, view the backside of the moon, and even see the progress of current space missions in our solar system.
- Future Archeologists: Unearth history’s treasures with the BBC’s Civilizations AR, diving into art and culture from around the globe and throughout time. Kids discover the secrets of ancient Egypt, reveal hidden layers beneath Renaissance masterpieces and learn more about the origins of these cultural treasures and the people who made them.
- Future Veterinarians: Budding biologist can immerse themselves in the complete life cycle of a frog with Froggipedia, and use AR to view the frog’s skeletal, muscular and nervous systems. They can even use Apple Pencil in place of a scalpel to dissect a frog - no mess, no funny smells!
- Future Maestros: Piano Player 3D helps mini-Mozarts discover, learn, play and create piano songs, note by note. Using AR to place an upright piano in a room, virtuosos can explore its inner workings, and play music scrolls for songs.
- Not sure what app makes sense? The App Store’s collections of Apps for Every Grade takes the mystery out of choosing the best apps for every age and stage.
